Gatherers have begun having unofficial meetings around the country, as book groups, as political committees, for trips to farmers' markets, or for wine tastings. Sometimes, we just want to grab a coffee and know our fellow Gatherers better, too.

The GatherIngs group at ings.gather.com is an informal space where people can post events specifically for Gather members and open to the entire community. This is a prelude to our having actual events planning on the site. Please *do not* post events that are not Gatherer focused here. This group will be moderated to maintain event quality.

Proper posting includes a header that reads:
GatherIng - CITY NAME - PURPOSE - DATE - TIME

For example:
GatherIng- Boston - Casual Coffee - 6/1/06 - 7pm

Please be sure to set-up meetings in safe, public spaces and check-out the organizers before you hit the road. We want our Gatherers to stay happy and healthy.

Organizers, please be sure you attend and bring some kind of Gather gear (tshirt, signs, hats, laptop with Gather on it) so that others can find you! We recommend nametags (with usernames at least!) as well.

Please also bring a camera and post photos of your GatherIngs! Even if we can't make it, we'd love to share in the fun!
